Word-filled Wednesday

"I know that whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever; nothing can be put to it, nor anything taken from it; and God does it, that men should fear Him." ~Ecclesiastes 3:14

I was tagged by my sweet MT friend, Vicki (click here to visit her blog)

Preface: This is all in fun. I am not a follower of horoscopes, because my God is a jealous God and I have an addictive personality! I actually used to be way into horoscopes until the Lord drew me to Him. I make a very conscious effort not to read them, I have to because they get enough right to entice us, me, in! And as I read down through this description of one born in July, much of it rings familiar, and most of the rest of it has been true at one time or another. However, my God has been faithful to continue His good work and some things are no longer true of me. Woo-Hoo! Amen!

JULY: Fun to be with. Secretive. Difficult to fathom and to be understood. Quiet unless excited or tensed. Takes pride in oneself. Has reputation. Easily consoled. Honest. Concerned about people’s feelings. Tactful. Friendly. Approachable. Emotional temperamental and unpredictable. Moody and easily hurt. Witty and sparkly. Not revengeful. Forgiving but never forgets. Dislikes nonsensical and unnecessary things. Guides others physically and mentally. Sensitive and forms impressions carefully. Caring and loving. Treats others equally. Strong sense of sympathy. Wary and sharp. Judges people through observations. Hardworking. No difficulties in studying. Loves to be alone. Always broods about the past and the old friends. Likes to be quiet. Homely person. Waits for friends. Never looks for friends. Not aggressive unless provoked. Prone to having stomach and dieting problems. Loves to be loved. Easily hurt but takes long to recover.

~~~Let's see, I hope I'm fun to be with, I don't know if I'm secretive, am I difficult to fathom and be understood? I used to be more quiet then I am now. I don't know where I stand on the pride thing. Reputation? I guess I should ask my husband if I am easily consoled. I do believe in being honest. People's feelings thing is true, am I tactful? What exactly is tact? I hope I am friendly and approachable. The emotional and unpredictable stuff used to be way more true, credit God. Same with the moody and easily hurt things. Witty...John says yes. Sparkly?!?! Ooooh, I wish, actually I have just recently started wearing glimmering lotion, so yes, sometimes, I am Sparkly! :) Not revengeful. Dislikes nonsensical and unecessary things...well, this is unecessary, so I think I'll stop. You get the idea and you already know me anyway, right?! :) with love, me
I think I'll tag...Stephanie and Shonda
Ten Things Tuesday
I am thankful for...
1. Precious friends that God has blessed us with here in such a short amount of time!
2. My beautiful family!
3. You know the saying, Make new friends, but keep the old. (Can you hear the tune in your head?) So~above mentioned new friends...and equally precious are the friends that have stood the test of time. You know who you are, you 'old' friends you! :) And may the new friends one day become good old friends as well!
4. God's continuing care for us...He might be giving us a second vehicle, not a necessity but helpful!
5. Super thankful for God's soveriegnty in placing my children in the classes and schools they are supposed to be in. Thank you, Lord. This one would completely overwhelm me if I had to be in charge of it! Whew!
6. God's faithfulness to have been priming a perfect place for my husband to work when a job change came into the picture.
7. The resolve of mind and health of body to stick with an exercise program I have been enjoying since March.
8. The sweet comments of my precious children that I don't need to exercise to change my body because I look great. :) (p.s. I reassured them I was only exercising to be healthy and strong, not to 'change' my body)
9. The meeting together of my husband with a dear friend of mine's husband. They are reading through Wild at Heart and just having some good fellowship and laughs!
10. A day in the 80's yesterday, a promise that good weather really is on its way!
BIG HOWDY
BIG HOWDY!!!
Whew! I think I am ready to take this back up again... my sweet husband has encouraged me to keep it up, he likes that I do this and how much people enjoy it. And thanks to you precious ones who gave me encouragement from my 'taking a break' post! XOXO
Here is what's been happening with us...
~We had report cards and conferences; all good! No surprises on the things we need to work on, for the most part glowing reports ~ Yea! Nate has stayed on the Honor Roll all year ~ good job, Natey!
~ The girls and I visited some princesses Saturday morning, which we got a kick out of! It was held at the convent, one of the oldest buildings in town, we got to walk throughout and 'experience' different princesses. We saw the seven dwarves beds and dug some treasures of Ariel's out of sand. We played with Abo on Jasmine's magic carpet and saw the dress that the birds and mice made for Cinderella. Ellie danced with Belle and Phoebe took my picture (because she was too shy to be IN the pic) with Tinkerbell and Jasmine. :) It was the place to be that morning, we ran into several friends.
~Then last night we had Awana awards night. It was a fun night! Jacob and Nate got completion plaques and Phoebe graduated to Sparks. And Ellie had a better year this than last, bless her heart! She has a lot going on in her world!
Only a month and a half left of school, last day is May 29th!
The end of February John changed jobs. He is really enjoying working at Notbohm Motors. He gets to design graphics for the vehicles and will be managing the detailing guys at some point in the near future. They are going to break ground on a new building for detailing soon. This last weekend he design a graphic for a big client's semi which the client really liked! This was Notbohm's first and all were impressed! It's like God was preparing a place for John there, its really great. However...along with a new job comes a new one year at the job date, which means no vacation time at Christmas. We won't be able to travel to ID this year...sad face. I am dreading telling the kids this, in fact I might need to cry about it before I try tell them...and then i'll probably cry about it again with them! But, my parents are planning a trip out Labor Day weekend and John's family is talking about coming out for Christmas, everyone else we will miss, miss, miss! Ala, it will all be okay. Thank you to our sweet families for coming our way this year!
Well, that is enough for now! Love you!
Taking a Break
It has come to my attention, due to a couple recent events (in a long line of many similar events), that I am not a good homemaker. I was finally struck today, with the fact that I not only could do much better, but I must!
The most recent events may seem fairly small, but they were the straw that broke the camel's back for me. And suddenly I realized, I don't put forth much effort. My husband is a most amazing sort, he hardly ever asks a thing of me, he doesn't complain, he often pitches in to help, and he continually encourages and affirms me. How do a treat such a prince? Well, I take advantage of his kindnesses, of course! And it really must stop.... so, I am taking a leave of absence from email and blogging and web/blog-surfing, etc.! I am going to put 100% more effort into making a home. Laundry kept up, house kept clean and tidy, dinners made.
I am so thankful to be able to be home, and in the near future, may not be able to be, so I must take advantage of being here!
Thanks for your support and patience with me as I strive to be a better wife and mother to the precious beings I have been blessed with!
And special thanks to my super-patient husband. (Why has this begun to sound like an acceptance speech...?)He is Superman. No regular guy could do that.
Love, Adrian
"Remember, when you see a person of great spiritual stature, the road you must travel to walk with him is not one where the sun always shines and wildflowers always bloom. Instead, the way is a steep rocky and narrow path where the winds of Hell will try to knock you off your feet, and where sharp rocks will cut you, prickly thorns will scratch your face, and poisonous snakes will slither and hiss all around you. ~You may be tempted to run from the ordeal of a fierce storm of testing, but head straight for it! God is there to meet you in the center of each trial, and He will whisper to you His secrets, which will bring you out with a radiant face and such an invincible faith that all the demons of Hell will never be able to shake it!" ~E.A. Kilbourne, Streams in the Desert
